The thieves crunch through suburban backyard snow.
“This is it, Marvin,” Harrison grins. “The one I told you about.”
A porch light blazes on, glinting off Harrison’s silver tooth.
“Someone’s home!” Marvin hisses.
“Wait…” Harrison pats the air. “It’s just a kid. And he’s… alone at home.”
“Oh no!” A small voice calls from inside. “I’m very scared!”
Harrison and Marvin smirk, shoulder the door. Inside, a rush of movement, then… darkness.
Upon waking, they see them… chained, caged, trapped. Skeletons, bodies, and terrified faces of other would-be robbers who had come before.
The kid growls. “This is my house.”
