HUNDREDS #13/100: A New Eden

I receive data from the L3 probe: Another Earth, directly opposite our ruined one, hidden by the Sun.

I enhance the probe’s ground imagery. Trees. Oceans. Birds. Animals, some centuries extinct here.

A new Eden. But no Adams. No Eves.

We have burned our world. And here is… Salvation!

…but from where?

A second chance from God?

A life raft from alien benefactors?

I pick up the phone. If we can reroute the starships ferrying humanity to uncertain stars, we…

We…

We will undoubtedly do it all again.

I hang up the phone, delete the data, and decommission the probe.
